Cheung is an accomplished hairstylist with over two decades of experience in the industry. Starting his career at the age of 15, he began cutting hair for friends and family before pursuing an apprenticeship at Architects & Heroes Salon in 1999. He later joined the opening team of Red Chair Salon in 2003, where he created the salon's hair cutting program, and continued to refine his skills at Groove Salon in 2008. Cheung further honed his craft with advanced training at Vidal Sassoon in London and Bumble and Bumble in New York.
Known for his expertise in modern geometric cuts and transformations from long hair into short styles, Cheung is skilled with all hair textures and showcases a versatile skill set that appeals to a wide range of clients. His inspirations come from not only the European and fashion industries but also from the personalities of his clients themselves, adding a personalized touch to his work. After a brief teaching stint at Cowboys & Angels Salon, he founded Élan Hair Salon and is giving back to the next generation of stylists, ensuring his passion and knowledge continue to grow in the industry.

Chika Cody moved to San Francisco from Japan in 1991 and has been styling hair since 1993. She speaks fluent English and Japanese to bring a multi-cultural approach to hair styling. Chika specializes in both cut and color. She has received training at world-renowned establishments such as Vidal Sassoon, Bumble & Bumble, and Goldwell. With extensive training in both razor, scissor cutting techniques and advanced color knowledge.
She follows a philosophy of combining a deep level of expertise with the needs of busy professionals. Chika continues to educate herself on the latest innovations in the industry and brings a fresh approach to hairstyling.

Don began his career working in his family’s salon at the age of 17. He continued his education and apprenticeship program at Architects and Heroes, created by the Vidal Sassoon Training Academy. As many of the leaders in the industry will attest, Don’s career has spanned the “best decades” of hair styling in America; from the Avant-guard eighties and nineties, to the more chic and polished hair of “now”. Just like his brother, Oribe editorial stylist Eric Gabriel, Don has always been instinctively influenced by the essence of celebrities and rock icons. Although getting the opportunity to style Stevie Nicks whenever she plays the Bay Area, Don is equally grateful for his vast San Francisco based clientele who have followed his evolution and cherish the freshness of creativity. Rita began her career in San Francisco at Architects & Heros as an apprentice, and with her dedication and love for her art, she went on to become the Director of Education and Color Services for all three locations. Throughout her long, established career, she has mentored, educated and traveled to learn and share all things color.

Mia has specialized in color for more than 20 years and has trained in San Francisco, Paris, New York, London, Miami, and Los Angeles. Mia got her start in the industry as a model for Apple, Coca-Cola, and Bank of America and worked as a print and commercial stylist. A sought after colorist at premiere San Francisco salons, Architects & Heroes and DiPietro Todd, Mia’s work is recommended by Allure Magazine. She has been voted “Best Hair Color” for several awards including the San Francisco Bay-List, the Best of City Search and San Francisco Magazine’s Best of the Bay Area awards. CBS 5 has named Mia the “Best Hair Colorist” for the past several years.
Mia has extensive knowledge of products such as L’oreal, Redken, Olaplex, Goldwell, Schwartzkopf, and Wella through her many years as a hair color educator. She has shared her expertise answering the mailbag for GLAM, Top Button, Behind The Chair, San Francisco Magazine and Latina. With both Mexican and Filipino ancestry, Mia prides herself on being an expert in Asian and Latino hair color. Her forte is the beachy California surfer girl look and she is the creator of the exclusive anti-aging hair treatment, HALO.
Mia is an avid equestrian and animal lover and spends her free time riding her beloved horse, Maximus and throwing tennis balls for her dog, Otis. With a spirit for adventure, Mia has traveled the world exploring new cultures, food and art. A native Californian, the beach is her favorite spot to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset at the end of a long day.
